You Don’t Need to Publish Something Huge Every Day

Content marketing can quickly become overwhelming when businesses believe every new piece of content needs to be an enormous, comprehensive article.

It doesn’t.

Long-form content certainly has its place, particularly when targeting competitive search terms or explaining complicated subjects. However, shorter articles and updates can also contribute to an active website and broader content strategy.

A useful 200-word article can answer a simple customer question. A short company update can tell readers about something happening behind the scenes. A brief industry observation can demonstrate that your business remains active within its sector.

The key is ensuring that the content still provides value.

Publishing hundreds of meaningless words simply because a content calendar demands an article doesn’t help the reader. A shorter piece with a clear purpose can be far more effective than padding an idea until it reaches an arbitrary word count.

Consistency also needs to be sustainable for the people creating the content.

Some days provide enough time for detailed guides, research and long-form features.

Other days don’t.

A good content strategy has room for both.

Keep providing something useful to your audience, even when that something happens to be small.
